African Mining Ventures is a private investment holding company. We hold minority interests in publicly listed junior exploration companies working on gold and base-metal systems in Africa and on the geologically related terranes of the Guiana Shield.
We do not operate mines, hold mineral licences, or carry out exploration ourselves — we are a shareholder in the companies that do.
A small number of positions, held through the discovery cycle
We commit capital to a small number of exploration companies and hold those positions through the discovery cycle — a period of years, not quarters. We participate in primary issues where we are invited to and where terms are appropriate, and we accumulate in the market otherwise. We take no board seats and no management role.

The Damara Belt of Namibia, the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas of Morocco, the Birimian of West Africa, and the Guiana Shield of Suriname and Guyana — geologically the same rocks as West Africa, separated by the opening of the Atlantic.
